The southern Vendée is located on the Western
coast of France, just 3 hours drive south from the St Mâlo ferry terminal, 1
hour south of Nantes and 45 minutes north west of La Rochelle.
We operate between the towns of Fontenay-le-comte , Chantonnay, Ste. Hermine,
La Châtaigneraie, L'Absie and Coulonges-sur-L'Autize. Our selection of
property instructions comprises of village houses, traditional longeres,
farmhouses & gite complexes in rural, hamlet and pretty village locations.
Although the area is famous for green and rural landscapes & a slower pace
of life, none of our properties are more than a 15 minute drive from a large
town with all services, shops & restaurants.
The landscape is often described as looking like Dorset with a pace of life
similar to that in the UK 50 years ago! With rolling countryside, large
forests plus many rivers and lakes, the region makes an idyllic environment
for a holiday home or full time residence.

The area is steeped in history and offers much to see and do. All of our for
sale properties are located within an hours drive of the vast clean sandy
beaches offered by famous resorts such as Les Sables d' Olonne, Le Tranche
sur Mer and Ile de Re.
Vendée Climate - The whole area benefits from a micro-climate and has the
2nd highest annual hours of sunshine in France. This makes the region an
excellent location for a tourist related business venture such as gites or
B&B.
Family life & Education - The French education system provides excellent
facilities for children of all ages. Almost all the local villages have a
choice of either small private school, with term fees of just £50! or a
state school, all with small class numbers. For older children colleges can

with the health system and much more.

Fontenay le Comte
- Originally the capital of Vendee, Fontenany is a relaxing compact
renaissance town with the river running through and many old historical
buildings. There is a large market every Saturday morning, and many
fetes throughout the year, plus plenty of shops bars and restaurants.

Venise Verte -
An area of canals and waterways described as the Green Venice. Hire a
punt and take a casual journey through the labyrinth of small waterways
through pretty villages including Damvix, Coulon & Arcais. |

Puy Du Fou - Amusement parc with a
difference! - No rides or roller coasters to be found here. The parc
offer a unique experience, with many village re-creations and a variety
of live shows including a fantastic bird display, Viking re-inactment,
gladiator fighting, chariot racing, and in the evening a fantastic laser
light, firework performance with a cast of 1000 re-creating the Vendee
civil war. |
